Dragon Riders hit defences harder than anything else in the air at this Town Hall, and their problem has always been surviving the walk in. Totems fix that: three of them drop in front of the pack and the defences shoot the totem instead. The Rocket Backpack on the Dragon Duke is where the name comes from, and it is what lets him get ahead of the pack to soak the first Air Defence rather than trailing behind it.

How to run it
- 1Lightning the Air Defence covering the side you want to walk, using the three castle Earthquakes on the wall if the base is tight.
- 2Send the Dragon Duke in on a Rocket Backpack to soak the first Air Defence.
- 3Drop the Rocket Balloons on the two Air Defences either side of him.
- 4Deploy all eight Dragon Riders in one line, then Totem the compartment ahead of them as they cross.
- 5Inferno Dragons and the Warden in air mode go in last, and the Freezes are for the Monolith.
What beats it. Long air sweeper chains push the Riders off their line and the Totems land where the pack is not. Against a base built to fling air troops around, take a witch army.
The other TH16 armies
Same camp space, different answer. Jetpack Dragon Riders is the one to drop when the base suits it, not the only one worth learning.
