Clan games: the two numbers that decide what you get

When clan games run each month, what the 4,000 and 10,000 point numbers each mean, how the six reward tiers open, and how to earn the extra reward.

5 min read

Clan games has two point numbers in it and most people run them together. They do completely different jobs.

4,000 is your number. 10,000 is the clan's. Everything else about the event follows from that, including the reason people grind for four days and then wonder why nothing else unlocked.

When they run

The 22nd of every month at 08:00 UTC, through to the 28th.

That is the entire schedule. It does not drift, there is no separate calendar, and no announcement decides it. If it is the 22nd, clan games have either started or are hours away, and that answer is the same in July as it is in December.

The two numbers

PointsWhose they areWhat they do
4,000YoursSettles your rewards: a pick from every tier the clan opens, plus one extra
10,000Yours to score, the clan's to spendThe most you can personally add to the clan total

The individual cap sat at 4,000 for years and was raised to 10,000 with the December 2025 games. The number that decides your own rewards did not move with it, and that is the part that catches people out.

So the six thousand points between 4,000 and 10,000 are real and worth scoring, but they pay the clan, not you. They push the clan total towards higher tiers, which opens better rewards for everybody including you. What they do not do is give you anything on their own.

The same shape as the CWL star cap

This is exactly how league medals work: eight stars caps your personal share, and everything past it feeds the clan's placement instead. In both events there is a point where you stop earning for yourself and start earning for the roster, and in both cases nobody tells you where it is.

The six tiers

Tiers are opened by the clan total, not by you. Each one offers three items and you choose one.

TierClan points
I3,000
II7,500
III12,000
IV18,000
V30,000
VI50,000

The arithmetic on that last row is the interesting part. 50,000 points at a 10,000 cap is five people. Under the old 4,000 cap it took thirteen. A clan with six committed members can now finish the entire board, which was not true two years ago and is the single biggest thing the cap change did.

For a large clan it barely registers. For a clan of fifteen where eight people play seriously, it turned tier VI from unreachable into routine.

The extra reward

Hit 4,000 personally and you get one more pick than everybody below that line.

It arrives at the end rather than during. Once the games close and you have selected and confirmed your normal tier rewards, an extra rewards screen appears and you choose one additional item from any tier the clan unlocked. If the clan reached tier VI, your extra pick can come from tier VI.

This is the one part of clan games worth actively chasing, because it is free and a lot of people stop at three thousand and something without realising how close they were.

What the clan gets

Beyond the items, the clan earns clan XP for the tiers it finishes, and the further it pushes the more it takes. Clan games is one of only three sources of clan XP, the other two being wars and raid weekends, which is covered in full on the clan levels page.

There is no way to buy any of it. Like everything else that moves a clan level, it is participation converted into a number.

When it looks broken and is not

Two things get reported as bugs almost every month and neither one is.

Points stopped counting after you changed clan. Once you have started a challenge you are committed to that clan for those games. Leave and you cannot take part again until you rejoin the same clan. It is deliberate and it exists to stop people moving to a stronger clan halfway through for better rewards.

Points stopped counting at four thousand. They have not. Your rewards settle at 4,000, so the part of the screen you were watching stops moving, but the points themselves keep going to the clan total until you reach 10,000. Nothing is lost, it just stopped being yours.

Neither is worth a support ticket. Both are worth telling a new member before they open one.

Why this page does not list this month's rewards

Because they change every month, and a page rewritten every month is worth reading for about a week.

The tiers do not change. The two numbers do not change. The dates do not change. What rotates is which three items sit in each tier, and that list is on the reward screen in front of you, which is more current than any site can be.

One rule does carry across every month: take the thing you cannot get another way. Books, runes and hammers are worth more than the resource bundles sitting next to them, because gold and elixir can be farmed tonight and a book cannot be farmed at all. It is the same logic that governs the league medal shop, and it is right far more often than it is wrong.

See who actually finished their four thousand

Paste a clan tag for war attendance, missed attacks and CWL history across the roster, or a player tag for heroes, lab and equipment graded against the caps for that Town Hall.

Frequently asked

When do clan games start in Clash of Clans?

The 22nd of every month at 08:00 UTC, running until the 28th. The date does not move and there is no separate calendar to check, so a search for any particular month has the same answer as every other month.

How many points can one player get in clan games?

10,000, raised from 4,000 with the December 2025 games. Your own rewards are settled at 4,000 though, so everything you score above that goes to the clan total rather than to you.

What does 4000 points get you in clan games?

Your pick from every tier the clan unlocked, plus one extra reward. After you confirm your normal picks an extra screen appears and you choose one more item from any unlocked tier.

How many points do you need to unlock all six clan games tiers?

50,000 as a clan. With the individual cap at 10,000 that is five members maxing out, where the old 4,000 cap needed thirteen. That change is why small clans can now finish the whole board.

Why are my clan games points not counting?

Usually because you left the clan after starting a challenge, which locks you out until you rejoin that same clan. It is deliberate, and it stops people moving clans mid event for better rewards. The other common cause is simply having hit your 4,000 point reward cap.
