Hydra
Dragons and Dragon Riders together, and the hardest army to stop at TH18.
Hydra is what happens when you stop choosing between Dragons and Dragon Riders and bring both. The Riders soak the first ring and kill the defences that would otherwise shred a Dragon pack, and the Dragons behind them turn the opened side into rubble faster than the base can answer. The Dragon Duke leads it, which is the piece that makes this a TH18 army rather than a bigger TH17 one, and Totems replace the spell juggling that used to make air attacks fiddly.

How to run it
- 1Open with the Dragon Duke on the side you want the army to walk, and let him tank the first defence alone.
- 2Send the Ice Hound into the same side to pull air defence fire, then the Dragon Riders behind it.
- 3Follow with all eight Dragons in a tight line, not spread across the base.
- 4Drop the Totems on the compartments the pack is walking into, and hold both Freezes for the Monolith and the Inferno.
- 5Minion Prince and the Warden in air mode go in behind the Dragons to finish the core.
What beats it. Spread air defences with heavy sweeper coverage pull the pack apart before it reaches the core. If the base is built wide rather than deep, take a ground army instead.
The other TH18 armies
Same camp space, different answer. Hydra is the one to drop when the base suits it, not the only one worth learning.
