Valkyrie Smash
Two Golems in front, thirteen Valkyries behind, straight through the middle.
Valkyries unlock at TH8 and they are the only troop at this level that clears a whole compartment at once. Behind two Golems soaking single target defences they walk a wide line through the core and take the storages, the Town Hall and the defences around them together. It asks for less timing than Hogs and less funnelling than Dragons, which makes it the ground army worth learning first, and it keeps working at TH9 because a TH9 core is still mostly single target.

How to run it
- 1Pick the shortest line from an edge to the Town Hall, and open the first compartment on it with the Wall Breakers.
- 2Send both Golems through that gap so the Mortars and Wizard Towers commit to them.
- 3Drop all thirteen Valkyries behind the Golems in one group, then the Wizards behind the Valkyries.
- 4Rage the Valkyries as they enter the second compartment, and Heal them if a Mortar is landing on the group rather than on the Golems.
- 5Send the heroes in on the same line once the core is open, and clear the outside with the Minions while the timer runs.
What beats it. A base with the Town Hall in a far corner and the storages spread wide. Valkyries have no answer to distance, and the attack times out at sixty percent while they walk. Take the Dragons into a base built that way.
The other TH8 armies
Same camp space, different answer. Valkyrie Smash is the one to drop when the base suits it, not the only one worth learning.
